Scholarship Description

A Macquarie Research (MQRES) scholarship is available in the Macquarie University, Department of Psychology, as part of a collaborative project with TransGrid. TransGrid is a corporatised entity which owns, operates and manages the high voltage electricity system throughout New South Wales. The project is part an ARC-funded project (LP0884006) to develop an understanding of the human factors associated with operations in process control environments. The PhD candidate will examine aspects surrounding the relationship between interface design and human performance, including the development and evaluation of decision support systems. At various times, the candidate will be expected to undertake field work under the supervision of a Registered Psychologist. Some state-wide and interstate travel may be necessary. Payment Information

The value of this scholarship is AUD22500 (per annum). This award is to be used for research, living expenses, fees and miscellaneous purposes. This scholarship is paid fortnightly for the period of 3 and a half years.

Eligibility

This scholarship is for study in Australia for those who have achieved Honours 1 or equivalent. Only citizens of Australia or New Zealand or permanent residents can apply.
